Artist's Comments

This project took me about a week and half from start to finish, with about 5-6 hours put in each day. I started with a sheet of 3/4" plywood and drew out the body of the rifle. The light grey parts (excluding the barrel) are the wood that is still visible. After cutting it out, I layered on foam which I strengthened with sculpt-or-coat and then painted dark grey. The scope is detachable, and made from 1/4" ply and PVC pipe. I inset some plexiglas on either side of the scope and drew a reticule on with marker. The barrel is made from a tempered steel pipe which I painted with both shades of grey.

Based on the design from [link]

Comments greatly appreciated, as always.
